Years Woven is a documentary service dedicated to preserving the stories of older generations. We capture the history of families and communities, passing down their quiet wisdom to benefit those who follow.
In 1997, I sat down with my grandmother, Sylvia, to ask her a few questions about her life. I didn't know it then, but I was creating one of my family's most valuable possessions. She passed away in 2000, long before my children were born. Years later, I sat next to my 18-year-old daughter and pressed play. In that moment, Sylvia wasn't just a name on a family tree or a still photograph; she was laughing, talking, and alive in the room with us. That single video allowed my daughter to truly meet her great-grandmother. It was a profound gift, and it is the exact reason I founded Years Woven.
